Rescue Best Practices: Immersive Experience for Best Results
What is an Immersive Experience for Rescue?
- Blocking light from your eyes
- Listening to the Rescue software with headphones
- Reclining in a comfortable and safe place
Why Do I Need to Listen to Rescue in an Immersive Experience to Maximize the Result?
- Light-blocking mask: Visual activity such as light or shadows will stimulate your brain. Since Rescue is guiding your brain to a relaxed state, it’s doing the opposite of what is “normal” and helps to encourage a relaxed state.
- Headphones: Listen to Rescue ’s complex neuroacoustic software that contains non-linear oscillating algorithms delivered by binaural signal processing and isochronic wave forms. These algorithms ensure that the brain’s reticular activating system is unable to figure out the signaling patterns. We developed this technique to ensure you achieve optimal results every time you use the neuroacoustic software and your brain does not develop a tolerance and diminish the effects like what happens with binaural beats.
- Reclined: Relax anywhere you would take a nap, a bed in a bedroom, a recliner in a family room, or an airplane or train seat while traveling (make sure you download the program for offline playback first).
What Else Do I Need to Know?
- NuCalm works with people with hearing loss, implants, and aids. The music you are listening to in the NuCalm app is just an overlay. It is the frequencies underlying the music that are actually changing your brain waves, so as long as there is some hearing ability, with or without hearing aids, the NuCalm software will still be effective.
- The music does not need to be loud. Keep it at a comfortable, relaxing level. Because it’s the frequencies underlying the music that are slowing your brain waves, the volume of the music does not matter.
- You can Restart a Rescue journey, but you are unable to pause it. The beginning of a Rescue journey is similar to a down escalator, as it gently down-regulates your brain waves to Alpha and Theta for restoration and relaxation. In the middle of the journey, you will be in a transcendent state while feeling relaxed and being restored. At the end of the program, you will be gently guided back to awareness. If you are interrupted in the middle of the journey, you will be abruptly brought out of this state. Only NuCalm’s patented neuroscience technology can reliably and predictably gently guide your brain waves to and from the Theta healing zone any time you desire. The brain is sophisticated and complex and requires an intricate formula that relies on the gradual beginning for successful, predictable restoration. Interrupting this patented formula compromises the efficacy of the NuCalm session, and the beginning is required to successfully reach Theta. Even if your journey is shortened, you will still experience some benefits.
- Please pause your notifications or engage airplane mode while playing programs offline to eliminate distractions.
Questions about getting the best results from Rescue
Why do I need an eye mask when using Rescue?
Visual activity such as light or shadows stimulates your brain. Rescue is guiding your brain toward a relaxed state, so blocking light removes that stimulation and supports the shift. The other two parts of an immersive experience are listening with headphones and reclining in a comfortable, safe place like a bed, recliner or travel seat.
Why does Rescue need to be played through headphones?
Headphones deliver Rescue's neuroacoustic software, which uses non-linear oscillating algorithms delivered by binaural signal processing and isochronic wave forms. These algorithms keep the brain's reticular activating system from figuring out the signaling pattern. NuCalm says this stops the brain from developing a tolerance, which it says happens with binaural beats.
Does NuCalm work if I have hearing loss?
Yes, as long as there is some hearing ability, with or without hearing aids. NuCalm works with people with hearing loss, implants and aids because the music is just an overlay. The frequencies underneath the music are what change brain waves, which is also why the volume can stay at a comfortable, relaxing level.
Can I pause a Rescue session partway through?
No. A Rescue session can be restarted but not paused. The beginning works like a down escalator, gently bringing brain waves to Alpha and Theta, and that gradual start is required to reach Theta. An interruption brings you out of the state abruptly, though even a shortened session still offers some benefits. Pausing notifications or using airplane mode helps avoid interruptions.
